Re: cmonkey's journal
@cmonkey thanks for the Ruby's Pantry rec. No problem! We have had a good experience each time, although some items are hit and miss. We have started saying no to the Halo Top though, just got way burned out on that one. @LiberateMind, thanks! My job is pretty easy, only requiring a few hours...

Re: Do you lie?
The cultural pressure from every friend, every enemy, every direction, every country, every government is enormous. Businesses cannot exist if you do it. It takes such an act of will, that the longer it goes on in our lives, the more astonished I am that we did it at all Yea I am inversely correlat...

Re: What is your ERE housing score?
Now that we live in MN, this has become super efficient. Both WFH, groceries are 1.7 miles away by bike. We own our house so implied cost is about 403 per month with purchase price, taxes and insurance.

Nice, let me know how it goes! The food selection changes each time which is one of the exciting bits. Normally we don't get so much ice cream, usually just 6 or so. So we are good for a few months now..classical_Liberal wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 7:58 pmStill, it'll be worth a try, at least for the experience.

@cmonkey That's fantastic! What is the program called and how does it work? I'm assuming this is not taking from folks who would otherwise get it for free based on need. It's not a food shelf program, no, but I suppose indirectly it does, since the leftovers of the leftovers go to food shelf folks....

Re: cmonkey's journal
Since moving to MN, we've been doing our part to reduce food waste in landfills. There's a program that operates across the upper midwest which takes near expired food and gives it to you for pennies on the dollar. Each month costs $20 (no tax). Last night DW and I priced it all out and our best est...

Re: How far are you willing to walk to work?
3 feet
I used to walk about 2 miles a day but it was along a super busy highway. Still better than driving it though.
I'd say 3 miles is a good limit, above that get a bike.

Walking at 9 months? Like furniture walking or unassisted? If it's the latter, she really is thriving! Glad to hear she is doing so well.
